Senomyx Inc. (NASDAQ:SNMX) had a loss and beat Wall Street’s expectations, BUT came up short on beating the revenue expectation. The revenue miss is a negative sign to shareholders seeking high growth out of the company. Shares are up 4.17%.

Adjusted earnings per share increased to $-0.05 in the quarter versus EPS of $-0.08 in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue rose 12.08% to $7.7 million from the year-earlier quarter.

Actual vs. Wall St. Expectations: Senomyx Inc. reported adjusted EPS loss of $0.05 per share. By that measure, the company beat the mean analyst estimate of $-0.06. It missed the average revenue estimate of $7.75 million.

Non-GAAP revenue totaled $86.5 million, which translated into an adjusted net loss of $0.10 per share. Both top and bottom line results were better than the $79.6 million in sales and $0.17 per share loss that investors were expecting.

CEO Scott Lang said the company continues to execute on its roadmap, and numerous utilities are expanding their relationships with Silver Spring. On a GAAP basis, the company posted $9.5 million in net income, a substantial improvement from the $23.4 million net loss a year ago. Stifel Nicolaus has reiterated its buy rating while boosting its price target from $22 to $32.

Silver Spring Networks Inc (NYSE:SSNI) shares increased 16.54% to $31.92 in last trading session with traded volume of 669,647.00 shares.

NIC Inc. (NASDAQ:EGOV) have jumped today by as much as 19% after the company reported earnings.

Revenue in the second quarter added up to $65.9 million, which paved the way for $0.16 per share in profit. Both figures easily beat the Street, which was calling for $60.6 million in sales and a profit of just $0.11 per share.

The company said its non-DMV services segment performed well, with sales rising 40%. While the company acknowledged a previously disclosed challenge with the Pennsylvania Treasury, NIC continues to grow relationships with other governments. NIC added Wisconsin as its newest state partner in the quarter, while numerous other states renewed contracts.

NIC Inc. (NASDAQ:EGOV) shares boosted 19.15% to $22.83 in last trading session with traded volume of 1.18 million shares.
